One Five have already won several heavily contested tournaments, especially at WTT, STC and Christmas HS in Telč, but we have to rank this silver medal win at this year's Christmas Hockey Series 2025 even higher, because it was in the category of players born in 2014, i.e. a year older than our selected team.
Since the U11 category was skipped in Telč this year, i.e. players born in 2015, we did not have a well-filled tournament for ONE FIVE. So we took advantage of the opportunity and entered the team into the tournament of the older U12 category. So there was no pressure on the result, there were no expectations, rather there was a big unknown as to how the younger players would perform in competition with hockey players one year older. The team was completed by only two Bílí Tygři Liberec players from the year 2014 - Richard Jirák and Adam Charvát.
The team played the tournament as follows: Metoděj Vaněk - Jan Mikulenka, František Mišák, Petr Hrubeš, Richard Jirák - Mikuláš Hladík, Adam Charvát, David Cimbál, David Švejda, Jakub Mikulenka, Vendelín Holčák, Petr Chmel, Karel Mošovský. The only player missing from the tournament was Daniel Jungbauer, who fell ill just before the start.
At the beginning, our select was waiting for one of the tournament favorites - Czech Dragons. Even though the players had to deal with a little nervousness, the result of the double match was not bad at all and the first duel even had to be decided by a penalty shootout. In the end, it was not successful and it resulted in a 2:3 loss after penalties, but even a point against a strong opponent counted, the Raiders lost the second match 0:2. The success or failure was decided by the evening's second duel against Glabi Hockey. In case of a loss, the Raiders would only be playing for the final 9th place and the tournament would end for them in quotes. But the young hockey players in black and white did not let that happen and after the results of 3:0 and 3:0, they secured participation in Saturday's quarterfinals.
There, our selection was faced by the Stasa Hockey team, but an almost flawless performance in an important match and a clear 5:1 win meant that the young Raiders would compete for medals. It was already going to be tough, because in the semi-finals they were facing the toughest opponent possible. The selection of boys mainly from Mr. Pytlík's home incubator - Ice Dragons. A team that has long been one of the best in this category. The course of the match itself was dramatic, the Raiders were always leading, one step ahead, but the home team always managed to equalize the lead. Until the score was 3:3. Less than 5 minutes before the end, Karel Mošovský broke free and sent his team into the lead, which the black and whites did not let go of, and in the celebrations and euphoria, the players did not even realize what a great success they had achieved.
As fate would have it, the tournament ended as it started. The final duel was against the only team that the Raiders were able to defeat in the tournament - the Czech Dragons. The Raiders were not the favorite, and since the opponent was really strong and had excellent individuals in their center, the players led by Karel Mošovský Sr. and Petr Šafařovský did not ascend to the highest stage. Even though the first word was given to the scorer Petr Chmel, the Dragons turned the match around with two goals. Then again Petr Chmel gave hope with his second goal and tied the score at 2:2, but the Dragons found the answer again and decided the final with two quick goals in the end. Even so, the silver is a huge success for the Raiders and proof that the team is doing great and can assert itself even against older players. The individual award then went to Honzík Mikulenko, who was declared the best defender of the entire tournament.
